Website Design - This service will provide our customers with a complete website that responds to their likes and needs and includes layout, look and feel of a website, any artwork as needed, any interactive tools or programs as needed. Price will very much depend on the complexity of the project and will be estimated at time of commission.

Every website design will include the following:

  • A meeting to discuss the project in detail and collect any text, pictures and details that the customer wants to appear on the website. (During this meeting the contract will be signed and partial payment will be expected)
  • A website layout will be created based on the requirements of the client after the first meeting. After the layout has been designed, minor alterations will be possible at no additional charge. Major modifications, alterations, or a complete redesign of the layout will be billed at $300 for each additional design the client requires.
  • A CD or DVD with all the files that are part of the project including any multimedia that was embedded into it. This disk will be mailed to the customer. (The website itself can also be uploaded to a website of the customer's choosing at no additional cost.)
  • Free installation and configuration of any tools and programs that Modern Solution Designs offers as desired. (Installation and configuration of 3rd party software will be billed.)
  • Free 3 months of Webmaster Services - Very Light package. ($150 value)
  • (Optional) Modern Solution Designs will take care of setting up the domain and website hosting package with the service providers. This will require an upfront payment for 1 year of domain and hosting as well as a small administration fee, but will take the technical hassle off the customer's shoulders.

Website Maintenance - Routine maintenance of the website's code and features, minor updates of text and images, response to website-related E-Mail, etc... (Major alterations to the look and/or feel of the website is a major undertaking and is a redesign project falling under the Website Design service).

This service includes the following:

  • Changes to website text
  • Uploading new pictures and changing of pictures on the webpages (Not design of new custom graphics or artwork however)
  • Response to E-Mails directed at the site's webmaster regarding issues with the site itself and dealing with such issues
  • Repairs of broken links
  • Maintenance and updates of propietary software
  • Monthly monitoring of site performance

This service is available to any client in need of it and starts at a nominal fee of $50 per month for a low intensity site. Site intensity is determined on a monthly basis and is based on the amount of work a given site requires to maintain it in peak condition.

Additional service available within the webmaster arena are:

  • Proactive online marketing administration
  • Monthly SEO maintenance
  • Proactive SEO updates
  • Database management
  • Site hosting administration (maintaining hosting accounts, adding/removing E-Mail accounts, setting up additional server services, transferring existing sites, etc...)
  • Additional unique needs can also be addressed as needed by special arrangement with the customer

Web Software Design - For those customers who have extensive software needs. This service includes design of code and interface for use by the customer on their website. Examples include: database design, PHP/ASP forms, Javascript interactivity, etc...

Software design is by nature a very unique proccess that is meant to solve a problem that currently exists. As such, each project will be as unique as the customer's problem. As each customer's needs are completely unique, no general guideline for pricing is available for this service. Contact us with your needs for a quote.

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) - This is the proccess of optimizing and modifying of your site to improve its Search Engine results. This is a very long term investment. Our system is Ethical and honest and has resulted in the past in improvements from appearing on page 46 in a search on Google to appearing in the top 5 hits on Page 1. This service is offered for $25 per hour but also requires a minimum of $50 per page of the website for Design work during initial setup to deal with the improvements and revising design of the existing website to provide an SEO optimized website. The additional design fee does not apply to new sites being designed and implemented by us as we already include those where possible. This service is recommended only for those who are serious about a solid, highly ranked online presence and are prepared to invest in a long term, goal oriented planning for their website. This is amongst the most critically needed services most websites need, but few have, due to short term thinking. As such and due to the sheer intensity of long term investing of man hours this requires to be successful only those who are fully committed to securing market share in their area of business should consider it. A word of caution for those unfamiliar with this field:

Black hatting is an SEO technique that exploits various portions of a search engine's operation to temporarily cause a site to soar to a high ranking. These techniques result in that website being banned from appearing in Google and other search engines once they are caught or reported. When you search for an SEO service provider please make the wise choice and avoid any black hat SEO companies unless your website is intended to be only a 30 day wonder. Here today, banned tomorrow is a sadly common event in today's web world for those unwary novices to the internet business world. Modern Solution Designs does not condone, nor participate in any black hat techniques that many SEO providers participate in.

Multimedia Processing - This service is offered for all customers who have multimedia content they wish to put up on their website. In order for multimedia to be viewable by visitors on a web page, it has to be encoded in a web-supported digital format.

The services offered will include:

  • Scanning of customer provided pictures or photographs for conversion to digital format1
  • Conversion of video clips into web-playable formats2
  • Resizing, cropping, sharpening and other enhancement processes
  • Conversion of audio samples from CD or file into web-playable format3

1 Please note that the only formats of pictures natively supported by web browsers are JPEG, GIF and PNG.

2 The only format for video that can be streamed to a web visitor without incurring additional expenses is Flash FLV format and requires that the visitor has the Flash plug-in installed (Which they usually do). To stream other formats such as AVI and WMV require dedicated server support, which is usually a paid service offered by web hosting companies.

3 Please note that there are no formats for audio that natively play on the web, therefore all audio conversions would require a player (most often written in Flash) to play the digital sound clip.
